Victoria Richards is a Public Affairs Specialist for the U.S. Social Security Administration.

She has been a Graphic Designer for 21 years; 13 years with the State of Maryland, and eight years with Social Security Administration. Prior to that she spent six years as a Public Affairs Assistant with the U.S. Forces in Germany. She creates and maintain publications and other public information materials related to the Social Security Programs in English and 16 other languages. These materials are published in printed form and for the web in HTML and accessible PDF formats. She taught designers in her team how to easily and successfully convert all types of documents into accessible PDF. She informally consults with Adobe Systems and their Accessibility team on improving workflows and processes for document conversion.

She has presented sessions on creating Accessible PDFs from InDesign at national graphic design conferences and the InDesign user groups in the Greater Baltimore/Washington region.

Her talk will be about making PDF's Accessible

  • Easy steps to make just about any document accessible
  • How to identify and correct common errors in PDFs
  • Tips
